Bell Commercial

Has anyone seen the new Bell commercials? The company name is Bell, but then the slogan is something like "Friday night's just got better" with the final er highlighted in blue. There are a few others where the final er are highlighted in blue as well, and I seriously don't understand it. What do the letters e and r have to do with Bell? For some reason this is consuming me. Please help.

regardless, i wish they would stop calling twice a day. i might just have to answer next time just so i can tell them to leave us the heck alone.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who can't figure that out.

Speaking of Bell, what's with that commercial where the teenage boy leaves the laptop in the bathroom after watching a video on the internet. Am I the only one who thinks that one of the more likely implications is also the nastiest?

hehe I thought the same thing. Poor kid is going to be known as the masturbating bell guy for the rest of his life.

The thing about the commercials is that it isn't always "better". There are some billboards where it's "sexier" with the "er" in blue, and there's another one too. In French, it makes perfect sense. It says "la vie est Bell" and that means life is beautiful. Perfect sense. In English, majorly random. I think I'll need to go into a store and ask.

Check out their website. It's just that "er" is in pretty much every catch word that they use. I bet it doesn't really mean anything other than the fact that "er" is in all those words. The bottom line is it got our attention and we're talking about Bell. It seems to have proven itself as a good marketing tool.

I thought that as well as I was writing the post. We're talking about Bell, but about how stupid the add is. I guess any talk is good talk to big companies, though.

I just REALLY want it to be something real, and not just "er".

Well, apparently the 2 beavers got fired and were replaced by 2 letters. They've also changed the Bell logo.

Google "bell er" and you'll find you're not the only person wondering about this whole thing.

There's an article here.

Everytime I see the new Bell commercials I go crazy trying to figure out the subliminal message behind the "er". I have one theory that seems to make sense. Does the "er" stand for Enhanced Range? I'm going to go with that since it's highly plausible. Finally I can sleep.
